Walking 4 mountains

Yesterday the 7-mountain walk was due, or the 4-mountains for the ones who think 7 is suicide. I’ve never done it before so I’m very proud of finishing it. We had a great time, I walked with our little princess (8 yo) and I’m proud of her too. We started around 9am and finished about 6pm. 8000 people participated, 5000 for the 7 mountains and 3000 for the 4 – isn’t that incredible? It was a bit crowded on the mountains but it was fun.

My feet are hurting but it was worth it. Heres some of the photos I took on the walk:

Mountain biking

Last Wednesday our young prince wanted to go for a bike ride – he knew an awesome route he wanted to try. I needed the exercise since I’m going the 4-mountain-tour this weekend. The others in the house are going the 7-mountain-tour but I’m not in shape for that yet. :)

After a long ride with though hills it was great to getting up there, awesome view and it was fun to see the old farm in such a good shape. People lived her till 1952 but now it is a museum. If the owner is there you can get a cup of coffee and some waffles. The place were in ruins not long ago but one guy built it up again.

Yet another dog attack

Millions of people gets bitten by dogs each year, it happen in Norway too. Today an 8 month old baby got attacked by a Rottweiler near me. I thought this dog was illegal. I’m not much into dog but its sad to read about these attacks. I have a feeling its all about how the dog has been raised, or am I wrong?

I noticed in some statistics that 5 millions in USA gets bitten by dog each year, but aren’t there about 50-60 million dogs in US? I’m not sure how many dogs there are in Norway.

The article is updated now. A mother were carrying the baby out of a mall and the dog jumped up and bit the baby’s leg…

Our local team scored two, but in wrong goal

Our local team Brann kicked their coach the other day and today was the first match without him. They scored two goals! But in wrong goal. But who minds that, its the finish that counts isn’t it? What goal they put the ball in doesn’t matter much.

Now people are discussing whether they will keep their league or not this year, I think they will make it – they have proven they can score.

Oh well, football isn’t everything, now I want to see the two last episodes of Lost so I can be finished with it and move on in life.

A paint job was long overdue, we figured out this was our last chance to paint it else it would have to be removed and replaced next season. This is how it looked before we put the stain on:

We bought 4 litres of stain and a roller, but first I washed and scrubbed it with something I don’t think is very environmental friendly..

Rich guy parked on handicap-parking

Stordalen, a well known man in Norway parked on a handicap parking and gets a top story on VG today. Hes embarrassed and have no excuse he says. But why can newspapers do this? I see horrible parkings every day but they are not mentioned in the newspaper. Why is it allowed to embarrass celebrities and not “normal” people?

I dislike people who illegally park on handicap-places but it irritates me that only celebrities are made fun of in the media. Why not do it to everybody?

I find it a bit amusing though that he was on his way to the optician but didn’t see the sign…

Decades with ash-trouble

Thor Thordarson, a vulcano researcher prepares us for decades of ash-trouble. Its incredible to see how dependent we’ve become of the air-traffic. What will happen the day Katla awakens and we can’t use airplanes for weeks, or months?

I follow vedur.is every day and jumps in my chair each time I see red dots around Katla, I’m thinking “Now its happening” but then the dots vanish. But one day…

In Norway we have an old train-system – people want the fastest route so people choose air and not train – will this change?

Norway in a nutshell

Since May 1st this year emergency cars in Norway need a taxi permit. The taxi-organizations demanded this because “hey – they are driving people around and charge them”. Isn’t it incredible? This is Norway in a nutshell – we laugh at other countries’ bureaucracy but we’re not better. The doctors visiting people have complained and want to stay clear of this rule, the application will be either accepted or denied this week.

If its not accepted I am worried how Norway will turn out to live in the next years.. Will the fire department and police need a taxi permit as well in the future?

I also read that every 5th student in 9th grade here in Bergen cannot read! And that is ethnic Norwegians, I wonder how the total is. Isn’t Norway great!?
